Leicester City
HistoryA congregation mainly made from old boys of Wyggeston School, held a meeting at a house on the Roman Fosse Way in 1884 and founded Leicester Fosse FC. The cost of membership was 9d (less than 4p). The name Leicester City did not become adopted until 1919.
Leicester City have never won the Championship or the F.A Cup in their entire history. They have been runners-up in the league once 1929 and losing finalists in the F.A Cup on four occasions 1949, 1961, 1963 and 1969. |
