Ground: St James Park

The name Newcastle United was derived at a meeting in Bath Lane Hall in 1892. When Newcastle West End went out of existence in 1892, the remaining committee men invited East End to play at Newcastle West End's ground, St James Park in the heart of the city. The club agreed and changed their ten year old name, Newcastle East End to that of Newcastle United

Newcastle United have won the league championship on 4 occasions 1905, 1907, 1909 and 1927. They have won the F.A Cup on 6 occasions 1910,1924,1932,1951,1952 and 1955. The only European competition they have won is the Inter Cities Fairs Cup in 1969.

Newcastle United were the first club in the twentieth century to win the F.A Cup in successive years in 1951 and 1952.
