No risks
Something to dream of...

With a testing away game at Cleethorpes, we’ll do well to progress to the second round of the FA Cup. I made my QPR debut some four weeks ago against Grimsby, and although we played well and won it 1-0, they were always in with a chance. This time we’re playing them without a number of first team regulars – Richard Edghill, Danny Shittu, Marc Bircham, and myself. I’ll say this though, we haven’t got a massive squad, but the twenty lads we do have can all play. Looking back at Derby we were forced to throw in quite a number of kids – that won’t happen here.

I’d love the team to progress in the Cup, there’s always a bit of magic when each round of the cup is drawn and if we can get into the third round and draw say Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool or Man Utd I’d be delighted.

It’s tempting to come back as soon as possible after injury, but as I found out last Tuesday, sometimes it’s better to play safe. I had to come off after five minutes against Dagenham and Redbridge, the hamstring just tightened up. It’s not serious though and I was able to run and stride out in training today, missing the game is more a precaution than anything else. We have a derby game against Brentford on Tuesday and they’ve had some cracking results and some poor one’s as well, so we’ll have to keep our focus. If selected I’ll be up against their tricky winger Stephen Hunt, he’s scored a few goals this season so I’ll be in for an interesting game. I see he's also got a website so I’ll have to remember to take a look to see what he’s thinking!!
