It'll go the wire
Same old Shearer!!!

With both Necwastle and Liverpool winning home games at the weekend, I'm convinced we'll have to wait until the last game of the season to find who'll be joining Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man Utd in next season's top competition.

I thought Liverpool would beat Blackburn - just as most people would have had Newcastle down as a home banker on Saturday. Although the scoreline looked good, it was a little too entertaining - Everton created chances that the Newcastle defence wouldn't have been happy with. There were spells duirng the game that we looked really shaky, and worryingly, this is becoming the norm. Once again the team had to rely on Alan Sheare who had another excellent performance, and Craig Bellemy who's recent scoring form is excellent. Shearer and Bellamy have been knocking them in for fun - in the last eleven games they've scored fifteen goals between them.

I think both Newcastle and Liverpool will finish strongly, and with only one point in it, it has to come down to the game at Anfield. It'll be a cup final down there and I'm sure we'll be able to improve on the FA Cup game earlier this year when we just didn't perform in the second half. We won't be favourites, but with Newcastle United, you never know what to expect.

After playing for England in the Masters 'Home Nations' on Friday, I drove through the night to get up to the North East for the 'Players Inc' talk-in. I was a bit worried at first as there didn't seem to be many there. But after the Man U v Arsenal game finished, it was a full house.

I'm down in London with the BBC on Wednesday, working on potential programmes for next season when the BBC have the Premiership rights. We're filming a pilot show, but at this point in time I know nothing more. In addition to other work commitments and another talk-in - this time with Spike Rawlings, I've a busy week!
