Fit and waiting to play - 30/04/2004
I'm fully fit, probably fitter than I've been all season, and now I'm just waiting to get back into the team. Steve Banks has come in when I was injured and he's done well, he's an experienced keeper and nice bloke. I'm still learning and it's good to be working alongside an older head - but I'm after my place back.
With two games left I know we aren't safe and we must get a point or three against Coventry on Saturday. They've had a strange season but have finshed relatively strongly and we'll have to fight for the points. We then face a trip to Stoke who, other than pride, have little to play for. You'd hope for atleast a point at the Brittania Stadium and with that point, we should be safe in Div One.
With only two games left this season I don't think the gaffer will make any unforced changes to the team. There's a fair amount of uncertainty around at present but all I can do is keep plugging away and wait for my chance. I believe in my own ability and I'm looking forward to a strong pre-season and selection for first team football come August.
I'd like to thank the fans for their support, It's great to hear from them - they pay to watch us and they know what I can do.
