Hunt handed lifeline - 24/05/2005
Brentford midfielder Stephen Hunt has been told by the club that if he fails to find a club during the summer, the 23-year-old will be invited back to the Bees for pre-season training.
Hunt, along with Irish colleague Scott Fitzgerald (Snr) and four other players were effectively released by the club today.
However, Brentford manager Martin Allen has told Hunt that there is still a chance he could resurrect his career at Griffin Park.
"All these players have done very well for this football club. Stephen Hunt will be invited back to pre-season training should he not find a club to prove his fitness and I will continue to review the situation with Deon Burton,” said Allen.
Hunt has been with the League One side since the summer of 2001 and has made 152 appearances for the club.
