One win, two defeats....
The man in the middle???

It was disappointing to loose at home to Grimsby on Saturday, and even more so to loose at QPR earlier in the month. OK, the Wycombe game brought three points, but we should be doing better.

No one likes to go down to their local rivals, and it was quite a heated game at Loftus Road. Much was written in the press about what went on – both on and off the pitch and not surprisingly, we at Brentford have one opinion, and they at QPR have another. I saw that Martin Rowlands went to the press and made a few interesting comments. I have to say that after playing with him at Brentford, I think he’s a great player – and has the ability to play in the Premiership. In the heat of a local derby it’s obvious that tackles will be made and there’ll be one or two niggles with a few words said – that’s all part of the game. I did catch his calf and he was subbed on 70 minutes when he got a standing ovation from their fans. He was obviously a bit sore with me, and took up his right to choose to go to the media - apparently calling me a ‘marked man’? Funny, but fullbacks have been marking me all season.

As it happens, I’m going to a party this weekend at Steven Sidwell’s who was on-loan with us last season. Martin will also be there, so no doubt we’ll have a chat about what went on. We play QPR at Griffin Park on February the 14th – Valentines Day, so I’ll have to promise to buy him a few red roses and card!? If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to get Sidwell to act as the referee!
