A tough start
Not sure if Owen will sign

Our first game of the new season was against Cheltenham and we lost it 2-0. We went down to two early goals which is always difficult to come back from, especially as they sat back after that and put 11 behind the ball. Also it was boiling and the heat takes so much out of you, I managed to lose half a stone during the game!

We壇 had quite a few pre season friendlies, I think it was 5 or 6, the team went through a lot of chopping and changing throughout these games although they all went very well. I think the first game back is always hard though.

We played again on Tuesday when we drew 1-1 away to Lincoln. They had a fair few chances in the first half and I think they were unlucky not to be a few ahead going in at half time. In the second half we played a lot better although the penalty we were awarded was never a penalty. Having said that, we were due some luck as on Saturday we had a definite penalty turned down.

Our next game is away to Rochdale and I知 pretty sure we beat them last year so I知 confident we can pick up three points again.

I知 glad to have the transfer all sorted out and am looking forward to the season ahead. I知 confident we値l have a good season, and ending up in or around the play offs would be great for us.

I知 in the process of buying a house and am looking forward to getting settled in. I知 currently in rented accommodation so it will be great to be in my own place. Buying a house is pretty stressful but it all seems to be going along okay, and hopefully I should move in at the beginning of September.

There痴 been a lot of talk about Real Madrid and transfers involving some Premiership players. I think Patrick Viera will go; I知 less sure about Michael Owen though. Chelsea  have bought some decent players and their squad is really strong. If I had to stick my neck out, I'd fancy them to win the league this year.
