Gazza - a legend

I’m playing at the Blue Flames ground tonight, it’s a game to mark the opening of Northumberland F.A.’s new headquarters at Benton. We’re playing Berwick Rangers but I’ve just found out that Gazza’s going to be guesting for Berwick.

I’m really looking forward to it as it’ll be a chance to see Gazza and get some crack from him. With a bit of luck we should both be playing central midfield so I should be seeing quite a lot of him. I’ve met him once before and he was absolutely fascinating, he’s always got something to say and is a real good laugh. As a player I think we all like to remember him at Italia '90, and as a Geordie he was massive for us in the late 80's.

I was watching Sky Sports and they’ve mentioned that he may be in for the player-manager’s job at Exeter City. The Exeter Chairman seems to want him, so there could be some interesting times ahead for the people down there! I’m sure that if he ends up at Exeter, he’ll be taking a few players with him. One thing’s for sure, Gazza certainly brings the game to life and we’ve all looking forward to seeing him back in the game.

Right I’m off to bed to get some rest before the game.
