There are no easy games in the Premiership, and travelling away to Birmingham is going to be very tough. They started the season poorly but since then, have turned in some good performances. Having recently beaten Villa at St.Andrews and holding Liverpool to a draw, they’ll be full of confidence. I watched the 3-0 win against Villa and although the result flattered them, they are at home and their fans will be expecting them to build on the win. We’ve played Birmingham in the Cup a couple of times and not had good results – so we have no excuse, we know it’s going to be a tough game.

Once again we conceded an early goal against Feyenoord, something that we must work on. Birmingham will start strongly and we must absorb the pressure they throw at us and maybe catch them on the break. A few press reports have said that Kiron and Beller’s may be rested, I’m not sure about that, we’ll find out tomorrow. I’m happier with my own form. I wasn’t playing well a few matches ago and I wasn’t happy with my performance against Sunderland. I saw more of the ball on Tuesday night and I like to think my overall distribution improved. I’m determined to do better – as is the squad as a whole, so you can be sure we’ll be giving it everything tomorrow.
