Question Time - 05/01/2003

The following interview is available in full on Newcastle World - the interactice video channel from NUFC.CO.UK

What is the best thing to come out of Peru? Good food, Inca’s buildings called Macchu Picchu.

What do you like most about Newcastle? Many things, I like the football passion

Who is your sporting hero? When I was young, it was difficult to say, Maradona, Pele, or Zico. But when I was 16/17 years and understood the game more, it was Mazinho or Jorginho. Their style of football, their skills – that’s something I’ve tried to copy.

What would you do if football didn’t exist? I don’t know, when I was young I wanted to be in the Police, then a Lawyer – many things, but in sport I’m not the right size for basketball, but I’d like to play volleyball.

What was your costume for the Player’s Christmas Party? A prisoner

What will you do when you retire? It’s hard to say now, but I want to be involved in football because all my life has been football, maybe I will be a manager…I don’t know

What did you want for Christmas? The Premier League trophy

What is your New Year’s resolution? I hope to do the best for me and Newcastle, I don’t eat or drink to much, but I try to be more friendly maybe?

Who is your favourite trumpet player? I like Aretules Santivales from Cuba, Giggsy Gillespie, I like Cuban music, but in general is Salsa Music.

What is your dream car and do you own it? Mercedes, its the style, they change little things but keep the style. I have an SL500.
