Let’s keep it going
David Thompson - a player to watch

The Premiership is our main focus, and the Champions League and international programme have provided a quite a few distractions. Come tomorrow we’ll have to concentrate fully when we return to league action at Blackburn. Three wins our of three have taken us out of the bottom and now we’re well placed to push into the European qualifying area – and that’s with a home game against Bolton to come.

I know I’m always saying it, but there simply aren’t any easy games at this level. Blackburn are a pretty good mid-table side and although they haven’t picked up three points that often, from what I’ve seen of them, they’ve played better football than their position suggests. They’re at home so we’re expecting them to come at us a bit. I hear they have afew injuries with player’s such as Dunn, Duff, and Yorke, but they still have Thompson in midfield and Cole in attack with Jansen perhaps returning. They still have the ability to trouble any team. I think it’ll be a good game, and I’m looking forward to putting on my boots after the week off. I think that my form is improving and so is that of the team as a whole. But it’ll all be forgotten if we slip up at Ewood Park. Last season we beat them 2-1 at St. James and then played them away with an evening kick off before the Sky cameras with Al getting two goals in good 2-2 draw. We know what we’ve up against so it’s up to us to play our game.

We’ll then have a day off before focusing on the Juventus game. We’ve got something to prove in the Champions League, and it although we’re struggling it would be fantastic to turn it around against the Italian Champions. It’s a pity Beller’s is suspended, he’s already beaten the national side this week and I bet he’d fancy himself to score a few against Juve.
