A tough game tonight - 19/12/2003

We have a difficult away game tonight as Doncaster are doing very well at the minutes – and the fact they’re in second place speaks for itself. I hear that they are virtually at full strength whilst we have a few problems – with Lee Trundle still suspended. However it a good opportunity to use a positive result to set us up for the holiday period. We’re away to Torquay then at home in my final game to Yeovil.

The loss against Southend was a surprise, they may have beaten us in the LDV Trophy – but we had a weak side out for that game. Southend have been struggling all season and although recent results have improved, I’d have thought this one would have been three points – it just goes to show that you can take nothing for granted. The referees in this division haven’t helped. I listen to Premiership fans moaning about the quality of officials in the top flight – they want to take a look in the third division!
