Lady luck's disappeared again - 03/12/2003

The defeat at Bloomfield Road on Saturday was hard to take. I’d mentioned on earlier website articles that we’ve been playing well but not getting results. After seemingly turning the corner in the recent games, once again we’ve failed to take our chances and lady luck deserted us! I should or could have scored two goals myself, but the ball twice hit the woodwork - it simply wasn’t to be.
The gaffer was just as frustrated, but understood that we’d played well without getting reward. My partnership with Brian Tinnion went well, I’m seeing a lot of the ball and getting forward into some good positions. We need to turn these performances into results though – and I can’t help but think that one day we’ll really turn someone over.
We face Barnsley again on Saturday – this time in the Cup. We played well in beating them 2-1 a couple of weeks ago, and obviously we’re going for a repeat result. They are a decent side though, and we certainly wont be complacent – especially with the way our luck has gone!
Just a quick word about the rugby, I’d like to congratulate Australia on winning the rugby league series – defeating Great Britain once again.
