Old Headingley AFC are playing Emmerdale Allsorts XI at Farsley Celtic's Throstle Nest ground on Sunday 20th August 2006 at 3pm KO (doors open 1.30pm). We are raising money for the charity Epilepsy Action, based in Yeadon. The opposition are the cast of Emmerdale, with
some other famous TV personalities from the likes of Shameless and
Holyoakes.

In order not to simply repeat last year's fantastic event, which
attracted a crowd of 620, we have decided to make the event more
attractive to the local public. We have attracted the following people
to play in the match:

- Lee Sharpe, ex Man United, Leeds, Bradford.
- John Beresfrod, ex Newcastle
- Brendan Ormsby, ex Leeds
- Longman from Chris Moyles Radio 1 breakfast show.
- Possibly more surprise guests!! (I'm trying to get Warren Barton and
Robert Lee)

There is lots and lots of fun events on the day including cheerleaders,
a race between the (Old Headingley) Epilepsy Action's and Farsley's
mascots (basically two men dressed in giant foam suits), a pre match
auction, raffle and live band in the bar, BBQ etc, and the day is going
to be covered by Real Radio and Yorkshire Evening Post.

Last year we had over 600. This year we are trying to get 1000! We
raised £3000 for charity last year and we want to raise more. It is £3
entry and £1.50 for kids.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring the event, then please do get in
touch.

Any extra person that comes through those gates is helping an excellent cause. For further information please email Chris Burns on
