No, I’m not hanging them up, but auctioning them for my charity - the William Hardy Trust Fund. Barry Venison’s www.Bid4Sport.com are doing the necessary, and further items currently available include Shay’s match worn, autographed gloves. An original England shirt, signed and worn by Bryan Robson will shortly be made available, and I must thank Primetime Recruitment (www.Primetime.co.uk) who’ve arranged the donation of shirt from the great man himself. ‘Captain Marvel’ has also included a letter of authenticity with the shirt – which boost’s it’s value tremendously! Jamie McClen’s official website ‘T’ shirt is also available, with mine to follow shortly.
The auction for Shay’s gloves (presently with a bid £140) concludes at 10pm Friday, 6th December. Bids close for my boots and Jamie’s ‘T ‘ shirt at 10pm on Tuesday, 10th December.
I thought the Everton game was incredible. It certainly wasn’t in the pre-match plan to struggle like we did, and it took a piece of excellence to get us back in it, with a further bit of luck to bring us the three points. OK we did dominate the match for long periods, but against ten men, at home, we’d expect to do that. Three points in the bag and that’s the main thing.
Yesterday we planned a practice match, a mixed first and reserve team game. It provided a good run out for Titus - who’s coming back from his hamstring injury, and luckily no one seemed to pick up any knocks. With a day off today, we’re back in on Thursday in preparation for the trip to Graham Taylor’s Aston Villa.
