A 1-1 away draw against PSV was a very good result - we'd have settled for that before kick-off. During the first half we had a few wobbles but overall payed well. It wasn't so good in the second half although we still managed to have a few pots at their goal. I was a little surprised that PSV didn't have more of a go at us in the second period. We played deep and they didn't seem to want to risk conceding a second goal. Perhaps they fancy their chances of getting a goal or two at St.James?
I spoke to Titus today and he said that there was no news from UEFA regarding the incident with the PSV defender. These things happen all the time in the Premiership, but last year's Champions League run proved that UEFA are very quick to view video evidence and take action against players. Titus will argue that he was just trying to free himself from the defender - who was all over him - and it seems UEFA must agree. It's a relief for the gaffer and a relief for Titus.
Tonight see's a benefit match at Kingston Park between Newcastle Falcons and Sumlock Global Chiefs. It's to raise money for the family of Soa Otuvaka who tragically died of a brain tumour recently. Please go along if you can, I've attached details of the game below. I was asked to play in the half-time touch rugby game, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to risk injury and therefore had to turn the offer down. Gazza, Peter Beardsley and John Barnes are turning out and fans of both rugby and football should have a good time...
